This gorgeous maxi skirt smashes three trends in one: maxis, florals and red are currently all big news. I love the way it’s more of a shorter midi length at the front. Does this make it a mixi?? I got it from ASOS but I also love this skirt at M&S and this at Next.

And in case you were wondering the Japanese on the t shirt means ‘delicate’!

This is turning into a somewhat sporadic blog thanks to London’s shit summer weather, and my uninteresting summer uniform of jeans and tees accessorised with an obligatory umbrella has hardly been inspiring.  I did, however, manage a short trip to Tokyo, and had fun wearing a different dress every day (all ASOS). I’d really recommend this as an easy city break packing tip that hardly requires any thought. Our day at Disney obviously required a rollercoaster-ready outfit, and these shorts from Superdry really fit the bill.

To cheer myself up and pretend that it’s still sandals weather, I’ve invested in a pair of felt, sheepskin lined Birkenstocks. They’re incredibly comfortable, look great with everything and keep my feet warm when it starts to get chilly!

Yet again life has got in the way of the blog. When is it ever not busy??? These pictures were taken weeks ago and I thought I wouldn’t be able to use them but the top is actually still in stock at Next.  There’s no getting away from statement sleeves at the moment and I think they make an everyday jeans and trainers type outfit a lot more interesting.  There is, however, a downside in that they can get in the way if you’re doing a bit of housework or cooking. My solution? Put your feet up and deliveroo (is that a verb).

I also want to point out the necklace which I think looks really high end but is, in fact, from H&M.  And the belt was my Mother’s Day present to myself (thanks kids). Not cheap, but I’ve already worn it so much that cost-per-wear it’s a bargain.

I didn’t need another mini bag. Ha! Let’s be honest here. There’s no such thing as too many bags. So when I saw what a friend had done with a bag from Primark and a strap from Accessorize, I had to give it a go. With the original strap the bag wasn’t really making a statement but cut it off and replace with something a bit funkier and it’s a whole different bag game. The strap I bought is no longer available but I’m loving this from Accessorize and these from Next too.

So the mac is back for SS17 and I planned weeks ago to use the heading ‘return of the mac’. I was too slow, however,  and now it’s been used in almost every magazine and blog post. Just as long as you know I thought of it first!

You may also have noticed an abundance of gingham currently in the shops. From shirts to skirts and even boots, everything is checked. And yet again Next smashes it with this gingham trench. I bought it in a size 10 and it’s roomy enough to wear now over a jacket or big sweater until the weather gets a bit warmer.

This jacket is from Next. I know, right? It was £78 and I love it. It’s not real leather but who cares when it’s covered in such beautiful embroidery?

I bought these ankle boots in the Next sale a few seasons ago and just came across them in the back of my wardrobe.  I’m not very good with a heel for everyday but these are just the right height not to be annoying and the blue jazzes up my jeans and makes a change from my usual black or tan ankle boots.  Sadly they’re no longer available but you can find similar at Top Shop and Ash. I also think they’ll look amazing with this dress by Norma Kamali which is on my wish list for Spring. Stripes are going to be HUGE …

I’m not one for going out on Saturday night, I’d much rather light some candles, crack open a bottle of red and and catch up with the latest scandi noir on tv. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m slobbing on the sofa in my trackie bottoms (although admittedly sometimes I am).  I’ve just added these feather print shorts from mish.London to my extensive loungewear collection. I discovered them last time I was getting a treatment at Margot London and with a little black vest and super comfy slippers , both from Next, my Saturday night outfit is complete.

Wandering down Carnaby Street a few weeks ago I spotted this stunning coat in the window of Supertrash. I tried it on and realised it would be extremely foolish not to buy it. Not only is it super warm but the colour is perfect for brightening up any outfit on a drab autumnal day. It was my first visit to Supertrash but I’ve now added it to my list of go-to shops in the West End, obvs.

I was having coffee with a friend a few weeks ago when a woman came into the cafe wearing this gorgeous black linen tunic. Super long sleeves, which I love, and slightly off the shoulder, which I also love. She looked stunning and I had to ask her where the top was from. I’m so glad I did because she’s the designer, Mercy Ogole. Check out her fabulous collection here.  I actually bought the tunic at Wolf & Badger in Mayfair which is brimful of young design talent. Not only do they sell clothes and accessories but original jewellery and homeware too. There were so many things I wanted I had to stop looking, but with Christmas coming up maybe I’ll be lucky …
