On a whim I decided that what I absolutely must have to cope with these freezing temperatures is some proper Ugg boots. My feet are always cold so Uggs as slippers are obviously what I need.  But Ugg boots are expensive and although I was prepared to make the investment I came across these lookalikes in Tu Clothing at Sainsbury’s for only £25. They’re real suede and super cosy and when I came to pay they had been reduced to £12.50. Sadly they’ve sold out online but they were still available in-store two days ago.

And shall we talk about the leggings? Yes, the rumours are true. Leggings are making a comeback. I found these wet look leggings at ASOS and I think with the right styling ( i.e. not a crop top and heels unless channeling Olivia N-J at a Grease themed party)   I can get away with wearing them out in public and not just lying on the sofa in a huge sweater and my new (faux) Uggs. Watch this space…

It might be raining in London today but this is my new favourite outfit when the sun’s out. I found the ASOS top while I was browsing LIKEtoKNOW on Instagram. Once you’ve signed up you get sent an email with the details of every outfit you’ve liked on the LIKEtoKNOW Instagram feed. Genius. The beautiful embroidered basket is from Comptoir Libanais. Each restaurant has an amazing display of baskets in different styles and colours, and the food’s pretty special too.

The off the shoulder/ Bardot/ peasant blouse is my new favourite top. I wore this outfit to a dinner party in France last month and I’m now loving the top with cut off denim shorts and sandals. In fact I’ve just ordered one in white (watch this space). The slight downside is that arm movement can be slightly restricted but hey, if it looks good…

Now that March is here and Spring is starting to make its presence felt,  it’s time to find an alternative to my much loved ankle boots. These Adidas Superstar shell toe trainers are so fresh and bright they lift any outfit and will see me through until Summer.

picstitch (3)Well, not a huge amount of shopping but a bit of browsing (and finding things for my Christmas wish list) and a lot of eating, drinking and gossiping. It gave me the chance to wear my new distressed jeans from Zara and another new sweater from @LazariClothing in Crouch End which is fast becoming my favourite local store for neutral basics.  The hand painted belt is by Marion Cheung who can be found on Facebook at Marion Cheung Fine Art Paintings

The Indian summer is finally over and I’m ready to get wrapped up in coats and boots and general cosy stuff. This jacket was a midsummer purchase that I’ve been so impatient to wear. I love the boxy, oversize look and the colour will brighten up the gloomy winter days to come. And what better than pearl accessories to complement the winter white.

I’ve never been a great follower of the bin-it-if-you-haven’t-worn-it-for-a-year rule so when I noticed that culottes were making a comeback I had a rummage in my wardrobe and was thrilled to find these. They were bought in the south of France over ten years ago and are still such a lovely sunny day option. However, now that I’m back from my tropical paradise I need to figure out how to update the look for autumn. I’ve got a few ideas but any suggestions for culottes: part two would be very welcome.
